It seems clear that our President’s support has fallen over the edge. The mumbles and “grumbles” of the last three years have come out of the closet, and people are actually expressing their displeasure.
With deference generally reserved for a king, the fawning press has deflected every hint of criticism of Obama since the day he announced he was running for office. He was their candidate from day one, and seemed to take the position that any criticism of him reflects badly on them.
In case that isn’t enough, the president’s insurance policy has always been his utter deftness as a Chicago pol. Criticize the commander in chief and you can expect to be mocked, locked out, and castigated by the White House. They did it to Fox news for months and months, and even on MSNBC Mark Halperin was put in isolation for saying Obama acted like a “Dick”.
Over the last few weeks we are seeing a little push-back. And trust me it is “little”. An intrepid reporter stands by his story about the WH telling Ford to pull an ad critical of the bail- out. (Both Ford and the WH deny)
Four years ago, MTV gleefully sponsored “A Conversation with President Obama” Which was a sequel of sorts to “Rock the Vote”. This year they have declined to give the president that stage. The FCC has failed to shut them down so far as a result. That’s progress.
There is no doubt that the White House continues to punish its enemies – take Gibson Guitar which was raided last month for using the same wood a democrat donor competitor uses. The democrat donor was not raided, of course. The press has yet to investigate why the double standard.
To this day, many people have still not heard of Solyndra, LightSquared or Fast and Furious. The political ties between Soylandra and President Obama would have blown the lid off of any other white house, but the press, in it’s adoration of Barack Obama, gave away it’s responsibility to report on the administration’s rampant crony capitalism in exchange for the election of, and access to, the man of their dreams. Fast and Furious should be headlining every newspaper every single day, instead the White House simply refuses to turn over information, ignores direct questions and simply pretends there is no news there, with the willful compliance of most of the media, who, at best give the scandal minimal lip service.
In the last month or so, it appears that some of those same news outlets have sobered up – slightly. Starting to allude to facts is not the same as actually reporting facts. Whether it is out of love or fear, the press appears to prefer President Obama lose his bid for re-election rather than be exposed for corruption. Either way they are a complete and utter disgrace and should be run out of town.
In the words of Ignatz:
“If this country still had an actual free press, rather than a group of courtiers, court jesters and self-made eunuchs fighting hammer and tong on behalf of every left wing administration, F&F would already be just the tip of Barry’s very own Tea Pot Dome.”
Don’t hold your breath.

Despite the “Rick Perry for President” Bumpersticker on my car, I’m rapidly becoming a Herman Cain fan. Cain had a great debate Thursday night and handily won the Florida straw poll on Saturday.
I can certainly live with that. In fact I am ready to replace my “Perry for President” bumper sticker with one that simply reads:

Anyone but Obama”.
It will go nicely with the one I pasted on in 2009 which reads:

Obama Must Go!
Go Cain!
What is truly fun to see, is all the democrats who spent 5 years screaming “racism” at every turn, having to regroup. The latest is that Cain is a “Clarence Thomas black” as opposed to a “Barack Obama black”. Are they really suggesting it is skin tone that makes all the difference in a black president? Nothing surprises me anymore.
It also is wrecking havoc on the “The Tea Party is racist” meme. I guess now we have moved on to “The Tea Party are nazi’s” meme.
Anyone else had enough of this stuff?
Elizabeth Warren Truth Squad

In the wake of Elizabeth Warren remarks yesterday:
“I hear all this, you know, ‘Well, this is class warfare, this is whatever. No. There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own — nobody.
“You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You were safe in your factory because of police-forces and fire-forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn’t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory — and hire someone to protect against this — because of the work the rest of us did.
“Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea. God bless — keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is, you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along.”
Joseph O’Brien has created the Elizabeth Warren Truth Squad on Facebook. Apparently Ms. Warren has a bit of a reputation around here.
I’d just like to know what she is doing with that $350,000 Harvard salary, plus $182,000 in royalties and consulting fees she made last year. According to her, that’s our money. BTW the MA GOP wants her to stop collecting “our money” while she is running her campaign for senate. I vote yes. That money should go to the roads she will travel on to campaign against Scott Brown.

Why hasn’t Tony Rezko been sentenced?
Tony Rezko was convicted of mail and wire fraud, aiding and abetting bribery and of money laundering in June of 2008. That was over 3 years ago.
Rezko, a pal and fundraiser for Rod Blagojevich and Barack Obama used the political clout from those relationships to manufacture a gigantic kickback scheme. He got caught and convicted after a Chicago trial under the prosecution of Patrick Fitzgerald’s office.
Sentencing was scheduled for Sept of 2008, but it never happened. Rezko lived in federal prison in solitary for two and a half years until he was moved to the county jail with the general population earlier this year. In January 2011 Rezko asked for another delay in sentencing which was granted apparently to testify against Blagojevich – something which never materialized.
So why hasn’t Tony Rezko been sentenced?
The media still sucks

Sometimes I think I am more angry at the media than I am at Obama. The media is supposed to keep us free. At some point the vast majority of the “Lame” stream abandoned that responsibility in return for getting their own way. And their “own way” was electing the cool socialist black guy. Obama will at some point be gone, but the media will continue.
Bill Quick over at Daily Pundit nailed it.
It’s all bullshit, you know. This new meme, that the press “neglected its functions as watchdog.” It didn’t. It performed to perfection what it truly believes its function is: to help shape history, politics, and culture in ways it finds congenial. Early on, the press made a collective decision that helping to effect the election of Barack Obama would admirably fulfill that function, and so it did everything it its power to help him defeat, first, Hillary Clinton, and next, John McCain. There was no failure here. There was instead complete success at fulfilling their intentions.
Unfortunately for them, the man they elected was nowhere near as effective in advancing their mutual goals as they were at getting him elected in the first place. And so, rather than admit their willing efforts to elect him, and take responsibility for the resulting disaster, they would rather pretend that their sin was a “failure” to “act as a watchdog.”
The truth is, their only failure was to drastically overestimate his ability to do what they elected him to do. That’s what they’re really ashamed of. They thought they were electing a full-on Marxist hero. Instead, they elevated an incompetent socialist with pretensions to Marxism. And now, steeped in the misery and humiliation of their own miscalculations, they want to pretend – and want us to believe – that their only sin was neglecting to vet him properly.
