Someone got their wires crossed today as last week’s guest showed up this morning. Andy Nuciforo is running against incumbent Richard Neal for Congress in the first district in MA. Hi is a very nice and personable guy and also very progressive. Obviously I had none of what I prepared last week, but it didn’t matter. I swear Dick could talk to a person speaking Swahili for an hour and never flinch. He is a pro.
Andy wants to tax the rich – so they pay “their fair share”, and build the infra-structure ala Lizzie Warren. He is for term limits and agrees with Richard Neal that no one should touch Social Secuity. When I asked where he would get the money he didn’t really have an answer. He blames the current problems on “3 unpaid-for wars” and wants to bring manufacturing back. He mentioned medical devices and wasn’t aware of the tax on those devices in Obamacare. He is a fan of the president.
I was surprised to hear Dick say that Eric Holder should go, and he also voiced his frustration with the President. I did ask both of them about the Chick Fil A response. Andy made sure we knew he supported gay marriage as well as the way it was passed (legal decision). I pointed out that the whole thing was a free speech issue.
Anyway, I’m hoping I didn’t roll my eyes too much but I think I need to work on that. If I were voting for the nice guy, Andy would get my vote.
